Design Mistakes Beginners Make and How to Fix Them

Great graphic and UI design looks effortless, but beneath every compelling layout lies deliberate discipline. Beginners often fall into common visual traps that immediately reveal amateur workmanship.

1. Fear of Negative Space (Whitespace)

Whitespace is not empty space to be filled; it is the oxygen that lets your primary content breathe. When elements are crammed together, the viewer's eye has no focal anchor.

2. Too Many Typefaces

Stick to a maximum of two font families per project: one expressive display font for main headlines, and one highly legible geometric or humanist sans-serif for body copy.

3. Insufficient Color Contrast
